Quite often It may happen that you are running WPAD based proxy and when you disconnect Firefox is no longer capable to serve pages. It is caused by Firefox. By default, it is ignoring changes in the system proxy configuration. The only possible option is to restart Firefox, until now. Now you just need to click on the button and the proxy is reloaded.
