There's nothing wrong with Adblock Plus, it works perfectly! The problem was caused by Firefox. I succeeded to overcome the problem using the 'Update 5/4/19 10:25 AM' approach at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/firefox-addons-being-disabled-due-to-an-expired-certificate/
