TL;DR: This is not a VPN itself, it's just a button to control AWS Cloud VPN. If you don't use the latter, you don't need this add-on.
This is an experimental extension to manage the AWeSome VPN daemon โ a Go wrapper around OpenVPN binary to simplify the connection to the AWS Cloud VPN. The whole project is still at early stage and is not recommended for day-to-day usage (unless the official AWS VPN client annoys you so much that you would use anything only to avoid it xD).
