Instead of switching Firefox profiles to access different tab collections, why not simply use Easy Session Manager? Easy Session Manager does that with a clean interface and simple data setup. To use, simply click the buttons for their respective actions. Make sure to select a session first as everything but "Save" and "Import" wont work. Double click a session in the list to open it and close out your current tab selection.
