This extension has one purpose: tell the Memory Story macOS app (running on the same computer) which browser tab is active, so it can label memory usage by website.

What it reads: the active tab's URL, page title, and window ID — only when you switch tabs or a page finishes loading. It never reads page content, form data, passwords, or browsing history.

Where it goes: exclusively to http://127.0.0.1:18765, a local server the Memory Story app runs on the same Mac. That address cannot be reached from another device or the internet. If Memory Story isn't running, the extension has nowhere to send anything and does nothing.

No data is logged, sold, analyzed, or sent to any third party or remote server. There is no account and no cross-site tracking. Uninstalling the extension or quitting Memory Story stops all data flow immediately.
