Test it for yourself. Nord VPN recommends you use https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ this website will tell you all is fine. But if you use https://ipleak.net/ or https://www.expressvpn.com/dns-leak-test it will reveal your home DNS and who your broadband provider is. Don't take my word, check this for yourself. It's a massive security flaw.
