This add-on is really good when it works, but sometimes it can be finicky and unreliable. Sometimes it will automatically set the volume to 95% or lower it down to around 30%. The 95% happens mainly when you have more than one tab open of YouTube and it can blast you if you are listening to loud music, even if you only have one tab open though it doesn't always fix the problem.
