When you open the popup, we send the detected DOI to the RetractCheck API to look up matching records. We store minimal metadata to protect against abuse:

• A random per-install ID, kept in the extension’s storage, so we can enforce daily quotas (100 lookups / 10 overrides).
• Override submissions (host, DOI, timestamp) are logged in Cloudflare KV for 90 days to review high-demand publishers.
• IP address is used server-side only to enforce rate limits and is not stored long term.

We do not gather browsing history, personal information, or sell any data.
