Safad AI Extension โ€“ Developer Notes

This extension is a vanilla JavaScript add-on with no build tools, bundlers, or minifiers.
All source files are human-readable and submitted as-is.

Architecture
  • api.js โ€“ Backend HTTP client with mutex-protected token refresh
  • background.js โ€“ Service worker for session management
  • popup.js โ€“ UI controller (login, chat, tools, library tabs)
  • storage.js โ€“ Secure session storage wrapper
  • hmac.js โ€“ HMAC request signing for AI endpoints

Backend
  • API: https://api.safad.eu
  • Auth: JWT with RS256, body-based refresh token (no cookies in extension)
  • AI requests are HMAC-signed for additional security
