StreamGuard — Gambling Ad Blocker


Removes gambling banners, overlays, and unwanted pop-ups from supported streaming pages while keeping the video player available.


StreamGuard provides focused protection against gambling advertising while
watching online video on supported streaming pages.

It detects gambling-related text and links, removes matching banners and
overlays, blocks matching ad requests, and closes external pop-up or pop-under
tabs created by the target website. The filtering rules are deliberately scoped
so ordinary video-player iframes remain available.

StreamGuard has no account, analytics, telemetry, remote configuration, or
payment requirement. It does not collect, store, or transmit user data.


Privacy & Security


No data is collected or transmitted. The manifest declares
data_collection_permissions.required as none.

• No account or test credentials are required.
• Expected behavior: matching gambling banners and advertising links are
  hidden. External tabs opened by a supported page are closed, while the video
  player remains visible.
• The broad host permission is needed to cancel third-party advertising
  requests from arbitrary ad hosts. Cancellation occurs only when the request
  originated from a supported page and its URL matches a gambling rule.
• All code is human-readable and included directly in the extension. There is
  no build step, minification, obfuscation, remote code, or third-party library.

StreamGuard processes page elements and request URLs locally in Firefox only.
It does not collect, retain, sell, share, or transmit browsing activity,
website content, identifiers, or any other user data.
