Until the recent update, this extension was great and captured video within the documented restrictions (so 4*). Unfortunately, the recent update broke it completely and every attempt to record now fails with error message 'TypeError: The stream (in errored state) is not in the writable state and cannot be closed'. How can users revert to the previous working version and prevent update?

Your objective to make it dumber succeeded, it's now so dumb it doesn't work at all. :(

Cool, thanks for the report.

You can downgrade from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/live-recorder/versions/ (and toggle off auto updates for this add-on from about:addons), meanwhile I'll try and see if I can find & fix the bug soon.

Could you tell me, which version of FF are you using? And more details on when this happens (during recording? during download?), how and how often it happens (every time?), would make it easier to find this to fix this.

    Good News: it works like a charm!
    Bad News: it only saves in webm, and if you try to change it to mp4 or mov without using a converter, it breaks the video and only saves the audio.
    I know webm isn't a problem for everyone and it literally advertises it (my dumbass didn't read that part), but I personally prefer mp4 or mov files. I've already tried a different screen recording extension, which was ass AND had the same webm problem, and this one works much better. If I can't find a screen recorder without webm, I'll probably just keep using this one.

    可以用，可以录到声音，使用也很方便，缺点就是分辨率低。致命问题是不能录到全部片段，例如：录一分钟的视频，只能播三秒钟，后面就直接没有，文件大小也是够一分钟的，却只能播放三秒钟！用剪辑软件打开，所有内容都是可以播放的！

    it needs audio. you have two smalls circles, blue and green under the screen. i used it in a live tiktok stream and worked.

    Works brilliantly, the people saying it doesn't probably didn't read the instructions. You must have an audio source already active on the page for it to detect (ie, start the YT video and then start the extension).
    Also, the default windows media player sometimes fails at reading the files, but it does that with all sorts of sources, so use a better player.

    Zero stars. Installed this for Firefox 120.0 (64-bit) based on a positive review article. Wasted an hour of my time. It appears this add-on is no longer maintained.

    Don't bother downloading. Extension isn't maintained anymore and doesn't work at all with recent FF versions
