They removed Socks and http servers for the country I used for years without notifying. So my only option to using a proxy in the browser only is this addon (without putting my whole connection over a vpn tunnel through the windows app).
Guess what, you can't pick which server you want to connect on this addon, only the country. Not only that, but disconnecting and reconnecting will connect you to the same exact server! So if the site does not work with given server, that's it, you can't select a different one from the same country.
I would rate 0 if I could, stay away guys. I have been a client of theirs for 5+ years but not anymore. Removing features overnight and forcing you to use this terrible addon is unprofessional.Utviklerrespons

While this rework is being performed, the majority of servers have this protocol shut down until completion of the rework. What if I don't want to use it in private windows anyway? Does it just want to collect some data when I use a private window, which exists to prevent tracking to a certain level? Kinda ironic for a VPN/Proxy Service...
Edit because of the Developer response: "You may choose to enable or disable this permission when installing the add-on, as well as in the Menu > Extensions section." No, I can't and that's the issue: If I do this the extension won't work any more, if I click on it it just tells me that the "Permission to run in private windows is required by Firefox for the extension to work." even in regular, non private/incognito windows.Utviklerrespons

Barely works.
edit: More information in the litany of other complaints:
- Logs out frequently
- Speeds are super slow and unable to reset or connect to another server in this app.
- Often freezes and at a load, requires full close of all browsers to fix it
- "Failed to connect. Try again later." error for no discernible reason
- unable to select individual servers (like the desktop app) - heck, unable to see the server name to check if that server is good or bad. No way to just "connect to the next best server" if one doesn't work. You're left with disconnecting and reconnecting...
- Good lord are the speeds slow. Holy cow. Just thought I'd add that in a 2nd time.Utviklerrespons

Entering credentials is annoying as modal dissapear, and form is not keepassxc friendly, so it's really for the ones using unique mail (+in gmail) and complex password
Please consider different way of providing credentials.
With both issues fixed (no log out, easier credentials entry) I would give 5 *Utviklerrespons

NordVPN works fine through the app itself, but not at all as an add-on.

Unlike the desktop app for Windows, it does not have a killswitch for if your connection drops for whatever reason, something I find pertinent with web browsers especially, since if a connection is lost on many sites an auto-reconnect will be attempted. The server-browser is very lacking, with only the ability to choose countries rather than specific servers, as well as barring the specialty servers available in the Windows App like Dedicated IP. The total lack of the features (or the manner in which they are hidden, if they do exist and I simply cannot find them) is disappointing. it is good for on-the-fly IP switching, but for privacy? Not enough control to be useful.

Regarding there being less features on the browser extension - this is normal because the browser extension only acts as a proxy for your browsing to hide your IP address, it does not provide data encryption like the desktop version. Because of this, you can only select countries to connect to and the specialty servers are non-existent on the extension. Same for such features like the Kill-switch. If you'd like access to all of those features and if data encryption while browsing is what you're after we recommend connecting with the desktop application instead of the browser extension. Requires logging in all the time and randomly crashes. I deleted the extension for a while and just recently decided to give it another shot, and it's not better.
