We do not record sensitive information, record browsing history, or disclose user data. Note that despite the prompt being new, Ghostery is not introducing any new permissions with the update. You can read about this in greater detail on our FAQ page, here: https://www.ghostery.com/faqs/why-am-i-being-prompted-to-approve-an-update-from-ghostery/
We are also open source, which you can view here: https://github.com/ghostery/ghostery-extension - Waardering: 1 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 13890511, 7 jaar geledenCannot Post Comments on FLICKI, FIREFOX doesn't work

Mostly likely you will just need to adjust your Ghostery settings. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 14459346, 7 jaar geledenWith the new update ghostery, now need "access to your data for all websites." It was one of the best applications for protecting personal data. Very sad, I dont want to look for other addon, it’s good that there is an possibility not to update

Unfortunately the plugin requires that permission in order to read the website content and block trackers.
I don't think anything has changed in that regard other than firefox making this more transparent.
It's a fact of life that you should probably only install addons that you trust since most of them can hook into the firefox api and read whatever data they want.
Ironically, you were okay when this process was opaque but now when you are warned about it, you no longer trust the same addons you supposedly did before.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

- Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 14458892, 7 jaar geledenLike so many other users within the last few days I have removed Ghostery for wanting to "access all data". I don't believe that it should be allowed to do that at all and seems extremely intrusive. Thank you for the time i've been with you but I shall now be using a different app that doesn't feel the need to see all of my passwords.

I have now disabled it. The reason? I am alarmed by the request to "access all data" submitted to websites. Why does Ghostery need to capture my sensitive data such as passwords? Is Ghostery GDRP compliant or should there be a referral to the Information Comissioners Office.? Come on Ghostery spill the beans why do you want all this data.
