I guess ALL of these adblockers just break over time as youtube figures out how to get around them? anyone know where I can find an adblocker with a team who can update almost as fast as youtube undoes them?

Ad blockers rely on a community of volunteers who maintain (in their spare time) the filter lists that block ads. So far, the volunteers have been keeping up quite well. If you're seeing ads in YouTube videos, try these troubleshooting tips: https://help.getadblock.com/solution/articles/6000109702-i-m-seeing-ads-in-youtube-videos

I do not like anything being imposed on me. Maybe there is a manip for that it stops? .... Me I find only one: disable adblock! and replace it with another one.
If you have a solution, I'm interested.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

Please open a ticket at https://help.getadblock.com/support/home and we will look into the issue further. - Waardering: 1 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 14441358, 6 jaar geledenI don't trust sell-out extensions that claim to block adds but opt for "non-obtrusive adds" to be allowed. This is a con, a way to get paid from both directions and flies in the face of any concept of ADD BLOCKING and PRIVACY. In the first bullet point of AdBlocks own description they claim "All Adds blocked by default", but that is not true according to their privacy policy or need to enter settings and turn off "acceptable add permission". So which is it? All adds, most or some? Is a little honesty too much to ask for, how about full disclosure?
AddBlock : Don't give a pat on the head reply and tag a bunch of articles or send me on an errand to debug your program. Comments made to others who have similar problems have been untenable when all they will do is uninstall your extension and install Ghostery, Privacy Badger, or a dozen other extensions that do not require the efforts you tender. Useless redirects are a smoke screen strategy to hide a lack of substance in a response when one is taken to task. I can see why this is a challenge when the typical "OMG what a great add blocker, I don't now how I ever got anything done before, LOL ;) " reviewer has no clue.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
6 jaar geleden geplaatstHi, and thanks for your comments. Thanks especially for pointing out the oversight in AdBlock's description in the AMO. We'll get that corrected ASAP.
The Acceptable Ads program isn't a con. It's a compromise, a way to help creators get the revenue they need to keep creating the content we all enjoy, while protecting us all from the truly bad ads nobody wants. The vast majority of our users are grateful for this middle way. Folks who want a scorched-earth approach are welcome to check out uBlock Origin. Its developer has a different philosophy than we do, so it meets a need we have chosen not to.
I know it's frustrating to ask for help, only to be told to try a complicated-looking series of debugging steps. We do this for a few reasons. Sometimes we ask our users to help troubleshoot issues that we can't reproduce. Much of the time, the steps we suggest are the result of successful troubleshooting; that is, they are the solution. We never want our users to feel they're getting a runaround or being directed to useless information. If we get something wrong in a support article and we are taken to task, whenever possible I'll fix it then and there. With one person supporting 65M users, we can't devote the in-depth 1:1 time we would all prefer. Last but not least, product reviews (along with Twitter and Facebook) aren't the best place to troubleshoot issues. It's much better to open a ticket on our support portal, help.getadblock.com.
If you've run into an issue and neither our responses to other reviews nor our knowledge base has helped, I encourage you to open a ticket. I'll be happy to dig in as much as needed to get things working for you again. :)

Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
7 jaar geleden geplaatstHi! That's a great question, and you're absolutely right to be cautious about the access you grant to software you install. In our case, AdBlock needs to be able to read the data on every web page you visit so that it can see what part of it is an ad it's going to need to block if possible or hide if not. Does that mean we store or use your personally identifiable information? Absolutely not. We're pretty big on privacy around here.
For more information about what kinds of information we can see and what we do with it, please see:
https://help.getadblock.com/solution/articles/6000087917-i-see-a-warning-that-adblock-can-access-my-data-and-browsing-activity-
I also encourage you to read our privacy policy, which goes into more detail:

I hope this helps to reassure you! If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a line at help@getadblock.com. :)

7 jaar geleden geplaatstHi! If you're still seeing ads after installing AdBlock, here are some things to check: https://help.getadblock.com/solution/articles/6000061202-seeing-unblocked-ads-start-here-
If those suggestions don't help, please open a ticket at help.getadblock.com. Include the debug info from the SUPPORT tab in AdBlock's options, a link to a page where you're seeing ads, and a screenshot of the ads (please capture the entire screen). Thanks!

Others have it also but this is more flexible. After a a day of use, the menu button disappears. The options disappear. They're only available after install. Unusable for me. Installed on Firefox 56.0 (32-bit).
