It simply works, and works great. I don't know why people leave so bad reviews.

For whatever reason it won't work with Google.com. Uninstalled faster than I installed this useless garbage...

It fully achieves the goal of changing the new tab page and properly clearing the address bar. It is the best extension for faithfully fulfilling this purpose.

This extension allowed me to switch from Chrome to Firefox since I've been using a Start.me page for a very long time and I needed the address bar to be empty when a new tab is opened.
Custom New Tab Page does the job flawlessly. An iframe is no problem for me since all links are opened in new tabs. Or you can just middle click them, you know.

Does exactly what I want it to do, I use this to make a "spacer" tab with my vertical tabs (since I have so many...), and I can set the title of the new tab to be a nice, visual "—————" instead of "about:newtab", which makes browsing through my long list of tabs much easier! Plus, the author's website at zen.mint.as looks super professional and works extremely well as a new tab page!

Okay for the feature, but changing the theme hard crashes the browser. Just cut the functionality, it's not needed but killing off potential work is just a disaster of an extension.

Most other new tab overrides just redirect to the url. But this extension uses an iframe I think. Another plus is when loading the new tab page you can set it to be dark mode or light mode, so no more flashes of white when loading a page that is dark. It's so dumb that they don't let you change the NewTab url like they let you change your new window start page.

There is really NO reason for Mozilla NOT to off the ability to do so.

Well, I'm betting that it has to do with $$$ honestly. The default new tab page is all about Pocket and most of the default articles it gives you are to paid sites that Pocket (aka Mozilla) make money from.... soooooo, that is the ONLY reason why I can see them not offering.

Because lets face it, we open new tabs A LOT more then we do new windows.
