- Waardering: 4 van 5door Francewhoa, 7 jaar geledenStrength:
• Open source. If you are not familiar with "open source", it means this add-on is more secure. Because its code is publicly available for review and contributions on GitHub at https://github.com/cloutierjo/titleUrl/
• Attractive GNU General Public License version 2. This means the software code of this add-on app is owned and supported by a friendly not-for-profit community. Instead of a for-profit corporation. And more secure because its full code is publicly available for review.
• Optionally customized the character(s) to separate page title and URL
• Optionally hide protocol from URL in title
• Works with KeePassX, KeePass
Challenge:
• Not yet able to add URL to HTTP Basic Auth pop up. Related ticket at https://github.com/cloutierjo/titleUrl/issues/1
Using
• Add-on version 1.03
• Firefox 52.8.0 (64-bit)
• Debian 8 Jessie 64-bit
• GNOME 3.14.1 - Waardering: 5 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 14018728, 7 jaar geledenDoes exactly what the others weren't for me! Keepass auto-type works again! Thank you so much for developing this!!!
Since FF Quantum, I have had to make dual-entries for when I am on FF or Chrome, as the Chrome extension I use shows protocol, and full URL. The FF add-on I was using, "URL (protocol, hostname, path) in title by Tormen" just would *not* work as advertised for me. - Waardering: 5 van 5door noname, 7 jaar geledenmany people dont undertand, how important trailing slash for this add on.
its usefull again phishing site,
for example google.com/ , without trailing slash, hacker can create site name like google.community.tld this to steal your info and password - Waardering: 4 van 5door Warrior1, 7 jaar geledenAn important add-on, however I give it 4 stars because of the forward slash at the end of the URL. Please remove the forward slash, its useless.

7 jaar geleden geplaatstHi,
Thank you for your comment. Concerning the forward slash at the end, it is required for security reason. This slash prevents from autotyping your google credentials on the google.com.hackersite.com site for example.
If you think this needs more discussion, please open an issue to https://github.com/cloutierjo/titleUrl/issues

Thank you for your comment. I'm not certain to understand your need. Could you open an issue to https://github.com/cloutierjo/titleUrl/issues it'll be easier to discuss about it there.
regards - Waardering: 5 van 5door Timofey Sherudilo, 8 jaar geledenVery useful. Thank you. ) A suggestion: it may be good to hide the trailing slash, as an option,

7 jaar geleden geplaatstHi,
Thank you for your comment. Concerning the title on the tab, sadly it is a current limitation of the new Firefox plugin API. If the possibility becomes available to change only the windows title, I'll surly do it.
Ctrl+Alt+A
- Waardering: 5 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 13284575, 8 jaar geledenDrop-in replacement for KeePass Helper, compatible with FF57+
- Waardering: 3 van 5door syldub, 8 jaar geledenDoes not work anymore since FF v110.
The original Keepass Helper addon was better.
Here, the url does show in the title bar only when tab has finished loading... Could you please display it at the very start ?
Also, if we drag and drop the URL to Windows Explorer, the url is embedded in the file name... not good!
One last thing : it will be good to implement an option to not show the protocol if wanted (i.e. "www.google.com" instead of "https://www.google.com")Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
8 jaar geleden geplaatstFirefox add-ons are disabled for addons.mozilla.org by a limitation from the browser itself. As for offer.ebay.com, for me it is a redirection to another page where the URL does get embed in the title bar.
If this doesn't work for you, please open a bug at https://github.com/cloutierjo/titleUrl/issues and we can work out why it is not working in your case.
Regards - Waardering: 5 van 5door JoanB, 8 jaar geledenThe add-on does what is expected (adds the URL to the title bar and nothing more).
Unlike other add-ons (Add URL to Window Title, KeePass Helper, etc.), this one works nice with e10s, i.e. it doesn't cause Firefox to drop back to single process mode. Also FF57+ compatible is nice for being future-proof.
Source in the XPI doesn't have any tracking or anything malicious, I checked it (you can do it yourself, it's pretty short).
It needs some better marketing/positioning since it was pretty hard to find on AMO (but also maybe because it has few users).
