Optimizations and Bugfixes

VT4Browsers 3.0
VTZilla and VTChromizer have just been merged into VT4Browsers. This version includes some important changes with respect to VTZilla version 2.2 aimed at building a bigger and stronger security community.

VT4Browsers 3.0 has been designed with various goals in mind. First of all, we wanted this new version to be compatible with Firefox and Chrome. We wanted to add some functionalities, but maintaining it easy to use, transparent to users and as customizable as possible. The first thing users will see when installing the extension is the VirusTotal icon. If you click on it you will see the different configuration options:

This will allow you to customize how files and URLs are sent to VirusTotal and what level of contribution to the security community you would like to do.

Users can then navigate as usual. When the extension detects a download it will show a bubble where you can see the upload progress and the links to file or URL reports.


VT4Browsers also has functionality to send any other URL or hash to VirusTotal. With a right button click users have access to other VirusTotal functionality:

Fighting malware requires everyone's collaboration, you too can also help, no need to be a techie. The VirusTotal browser extension has been updated in order to:

VTZilla has just been updated to the new 2.1 version. This version includes some important changes with respect to version 2.0 aimed at building a bigger and stronger security community.

VTZilla 2.0 is the VirusTotal update to our legacy VTZilla Firefox Extension. The new version is compatible with Firefox Quantum versions.

The upgrade includes more customization options and it makes a better integration with VirusTotal for scanning files, urls, hashes, etc.
