AI Prompts Extension ("the Extension") is designed to help users organize and quickly insert prompts into AI chat platforms. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection and Storage

What We Collect

• Prompt Content: Text prompts you create and organize
• Project Names: Names you assign to organize your prompts
• Settings: Your preferences for notifications and context menus
• Usage Data: No analytics, tracking, or usage data is collected

What We DON'T Collect

• Personal identifying information
• Browsing history outside of supported AI platforms
• Content from AI platforms (we only insert, never read responses)
• Passwords, login credentials, or account information
• Analytics or tracking data

Data Storage

Local Storage

All your data is stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage API:
- Chrome Storage Sync: Enables your prompts to sync across your devices when signed into the same Google account
- No External Servers: We do not operate any servers or databases
- No Cloud Storage: Data only syncs through Google's Chrome storage infrastructure

Data Control

• Export: You can export all your data as CSV at any time
• Import: You can import data from CSV files
• Delete: You can delete individual prompts or entire projects
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data

Permissions and Usage

Required Permissions

• activeTab: To detect input fields on AI platforms
• contextMenus: To provide right-click prompt insertion
• storage: To save your prompts and settings
• notifications: To show success/error messages
• Host permissions (AI platforms): To interact with input fields on supported sites

Supported Platforms

The extension only operates on these AI platforms:
- OpenAI (ChatGPT, OpenAI API)
- Anthropic (Claude.ai, Console)
- Google (Gemini)
- Microsoft (Copilot)
- Perplexity (Perplexity.ai)
- X/Grok (X.com, Grok.com)

Data Security

• All data processing happens locally on your device
• No data is transmitted to external servers
• Chrome's storage encryption protects your data
• Source code is open and auditable on GitHub

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties. Your prompts and settings remain entirely under your control.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the extension evolves. Users will be notified of significant changes through extension updates.
