Annotiq ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our Firefox extension.
- Data Collection and Usage
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers.
All data created by you when using the extension (such as highlighted text, notes, tags, and settings) is stored locally on your device using the browser's built-in storage API (browser.storage.local). - No Remote Servers: The extension does not communicate with any external servers, analytics services, or third-party tracking systems.
- Offline Functionality: The extension functions entirely offline.
- Permissions
The extension requires specific permissions to function: - activeTab: To access the content of the current page when you choose to highlight text.
- storage: To save your highlights and preferences locally on your device.
- contextMenus: To add the "Save Highlight" option to your right-click menu.
- scripting: To inject the highlighting functionality into web pages you interact with.
These permissions are used strictly for the functionality of the extension and not for data collection. - Data Sharing
Since we do not collect any data, we do not share any data with third parties. Your data remains on your device unless you manually export it (using the "Export" feature in the extension settings). - User Control
You have full control over your data: - Access: You can view all your stored highlights in the extension popup.
- Export: You can export your data to a JSON file for backup.
- Delete: You can delete individual highlights or clear all data via the extension settings.
- Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer through the support email provided on the Firefox Add-ons listing.
