Om denne utvidinga
Enhance-O-Tron adds the following features to Plex*:
Trailers:
- Open a movie library item and a link to the trailer will appear beneath the title
Random library sorting:
- Click the dice icon to shuffle your library view
2.35:1 (aka 21:9) fullscreen zoom:
- Click the 21:9 button in the bottom toolbar to view films without black bars on ultrawide displays.
Audio Compressor (Night Mode):
- Click the volume compressor icon in the bottom toolbar to enable dynamic range audio compression. This lowers the volume of loud sounds and amplifies quiet sounds. It's ideal for watching at low volumes by adding clarity to voices and improving the overall richness of the sound.
Note on Installing:
- Enhance-O-Tron runs automatically on app.plex.tv or localhost. If wish to access Plex on a custom host or IP, login to your Plex web and click the Enhance-O-Tron browser toolbar button to enable it for that URL. You may also need to enable the all_urls optional permission in the extension settings.
FAQ: How does ultrawide zoom work? Most feature films are shot in the ultrawide cinemascope format (21:9 / 2.35:1), but since most televisions are 16:9, HD Blu Rays are typically encoded in 16:9 with black bars on the top and bottom. This allows the film to retain the original aspect ratio when viewed on a regular screen. But if you have an ultrawide screen, the black bars are not necessary and prevent the film from using all the available space. Many digital players have a setting to zoom to 21:9 to crop the black bars out, but this was missing in Plex. Not anymore! Note that when film is distributed digitally sometimes the black bars are removed in the re-encoding. In these cases the film should already fill the screen properly. This extension is only needed for those cases where your source content is encoded in the original Blu Ray spec of 16:9 with the black bars. So if you see black bars when Plex is in full screen, just hit the 21:9 button and get the popcorn...
