very good! !! !!
The old youtube layout so far has a high degree of perfection and is wonderful.
I am very satisfied with the use of the pillar box.

One suggestion, but I'd be happy if youtube menus could always be open on the same page.
We also need to fix an issue where the end of the progress bar is choppy when using a small video player.

December 24: Addendum

It is said that it has been fixed, but it has not been fixed as of 12/24.
4/5 will be cut off like the attached image.

Thanks for the quick fix of the progress bar.

I am facing a new problem.
This is a serious problem for me.

From version 1.3.5 or later, you have to wait up to 10 seconds to load the next video.
No symptom was seen in previous versions.

It may be displayed immediately.
As for my symptom, the display from the top page is always awaited.
1080P → 1080P etc. will be displayed immediately.
1080P → 480P tends to occur, but the cause has not been identified.

EDIT: Thanks for the updates, I just looked into the issues you mentioned and sadly I cannot reproduce them. I even tried setting my YT language and region to JP and I verified it on the same video you linked but nothing breaks. If it requires some specific steps for the bug to occur then let me know. Also check if some other extensions or userscripts aren't interfering with YouTube Redux. It also appears that recently YouTube got some updates that introduced various bugs by itself so there could be stuff broken that's not related to the extension. Anyway I'll investigate further to see what could cause the long loading times since 1.3.5.

Unfortunately I'm not getting any notifications about review edits so I missed that - feel free to contact me via email or reddit thread that's linked on the extension page.

    Not only gave me the possibility of going back to a more usable, nostalgic and overall better looking UI but surprisingly also made youtube to work better and load faster in most instances - in the process making even more evident how much of a bad job the people behind YT are doing with all the bloat "updates" and terrible design choices. Great, great add-on

    The community posts have cyclinder boxes (not sqaure) and the icon that shows someone (or a channel) that there live is circular, 5 stars to fix ;)

    I understand that the latest update requires permission to be able to export the configuration files, but I beg you, make it optional. Until then I will be forced, for safety reasons, to remove the addon. It is a shame because I really loved this extension.

    I'm remaking that part to be optional or not required at all. Update soon!

    While it's being reworked I've reverted the update so v3.8.4 is the newest available.

    Love how it looks, however I downloaded this because I don't like the new floating video player icons, would it be possible to change them? Or at least make it so that the bottom of the icons doesn't get cut off, it does that on my machine.

    The latest update requires permission to "Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history". Why does the stateless functionality offered by this extension suddenly require such a strong intrusive permission? Unless, this extension was bought over by some greedy business that wants to collect and sell your data. Just find another extension at this point.

    Edit (post dev's response): It's still potentially unsafe in the event that a future update may obfuscate the code, since Mozilla does not require add-ons to be opensource. Since I do not require the export functionality, there should not be any obligation for me to accept the new permission. Currently, it is not so. Also, there are other extensions like uBlock Origin that allows syncing config (custom filter entries) without requiring any download or browsing history permissions.

    I am not questioning your commitment to remain open-source, but with this permission, there is a permanent opportunity for you and your successor (if and when) to malpractice.

    The extension now requires download permissions in order to be able to export user's config file. It is not used for anything else besides that single action and there is no malicious intent behind it (and never will be). YouTube Redux is open source and all code changes can be verified in its GitHub repository.

    Edit in response to your edit: Your concerns are absolutely justifiable. While at this moment it's a "trust me bro" situation, extension takeovers do happen and this is indeed a security risk for users. That said without delay I will be making this permission optional as well as allowing the user to save the config manually if that permission is denied. Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the scare!

    Love it. One big problem though, some days ago (forgot when), the shuffle button in the Playlist (When watching from the playlist, next to the loop button) is just gone. Turned the extension on & off to confirm, and yes the extension itself is the problem. Turning settings on & off did not fix the issue.

    Edit: This issue isn't fixed as of 8/20. Won't change rating, this is just to keep the issue known

    Works perfectly, 3 tile new design is just pure garbage. Youtube Redux easily fixes it
