Release Notes – Firefox Support
We’ve made our extension fully compatible with Firefox while keeping the exact same features, performance, and user experience across all browsers. This update unifies the codebase so that Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox now run the same version without separate builds or functionality differences.

What’s new:

High-quality icons: Updated toolbar icons to use the official ItsReal logo in high resolution with a transparent background and white lettering for maximum clarity.

Status indicators:
Green checkmark for Verified sites
Yellow exclamation mark for Semi-trusted sites
Default logo for unknown sites
Dynamic icon switching: Icons now change instantly based on the site’s trust level.
Optimized code: Simplified the background script for cleaner and more maintainable icon handling.

Fixes
Removed extra padding and spacing around icons for sharper appearance in all sizes (16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 128×128).
Ensured full transparency outside the logo to blend seamlessly with browser themes.

New: Enhanced Domain Trust Transparency:

New badge for semi-trusted domains:
"Known domain – not yet officially verified"
This badge is shown for domains that are widely used (banks, retailers, social platforms) but do not yet have an official partnership with ItsReal.
"You can only be 100% sure a site is legitimate when it has been officially verified by ItsReal."

Enhanced compatibility for Firefox Manifest V3:
Switched from background.service_worker to background.scripts as required by Firefox.
Prevented issues where the extension was blocked from running on websites due to missing permissions.
Users can now grant access more smoothly without manual intervention.
Note: Firefox still requires users to explicitly grant site permissions on first use.

QR code functionality in the popup

Display a QR code of the current page directly in the extension popup.

Users can scan the QR code with the ItsReal app for additional verification.

What’s new:

Full multi-language support:
The extension now automatically supports Dutch, English, French, and German. All notifications, popups, and prompts appear in your browser language.

AI website safety check:
On unrecognized or unofficial login pages, you can now right-click and ask a major AI service to check the safety of the website.
Choose from ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), or Copilot (Microsoft).
The question is automatically generated in your own language.

Context menu integration:
Simply right-click anywhere on a page and select “Check this page with AI...”
The popup and prompts appear fully translated.

User-friendly AI popup:
You always see a clear confirmation popup before anything is sent to an AI service.
The plugin never redirects or sends data without your explicit action.

Improved compatibility

Safe & privacy-friendly:
No data is collected or sent to any third-party server.
The plugin only opens AI services when you request it and always requires your own AI account.
