Occasionally uBO will be detected by a site and you have to put up with ads for a bit (currently happening to me on crazygames) but usually if you wait for a week or so it will be fixed. Definitely worth downloading, it is updated regularly and problems (once reported) are resolved pretty quickly. The reporting process is a nightmare though..way too complicated to figure out what goes where and jump through all the hoops to report a problem.

In fact you might be using one, two, or even three other extensions you don't need because ublock can already do it with a couple check boxes. Example, that annoying notification at the bottom of Reddit telling you you should use the app — ublock can stop that from happening.
