The extension works on two levels. At the network level, it uses Firefox’s declarativeNetRequest API to rewrite navigation requests so tracking parameters are removed before the page even loads, without giving the extension access to the full stream of requests. On the page itself, a small content script cleans YouTube URLs in the address bar, intercepts the Share dialog’s clipboard writes, and sanitizes links and window.open calls, so any copied or clicked YouTube URL is automatically “cleaned” without user interaction.
