My ears used to get blasted by tinnitus level loudness from watching twitch streamer who don't have a limiter on their stream or when their limiter suddenly stopped working mid stream, I had to constantly readjust my amp volume everytime that happened. This extension is ESSENTIAL for Firefox. It's perfect for websites like Twitch, which could have varying volumes across different streams.

Working great across many sites including youtube, twitch, spotify etc. Hope it continues to as it has great features like saving per-page settings and more customisable settings.

Update:

For anyone experiencing the below issue, if you're using FireFox you'll have to change the "Permissions" for Twitch in your browser.

If you go to Twitch.tv's main site, look at your URL/address line and you should see 3 icons: a shield, a lock, and... another icon. Don't know what it's supposed to represent. Click the 3rd icon and you should see an option for "Autoplay" and a drop-down menu. If you click the drop-down, select "Allow Audio and Video" and this will resolve the issue. Found this in a reddit thread and thought it might be useful to others.

Only giving this 1 star to get the developer's attention.

As of this post there seems to be an issue with this plugin and the website twitch.tv. I am unable to get audio while this plugin is enabled. When disabled audio plays fine through streams or VODs. Re-enabling the plugin, no sound is played (though the tab does note there is audio playing). Is there a known issue with Twitch and this plugin?

Otherwise, this is a 5 star plugin that replaced my previous audio balancing plugin after support was pulled.

Will update this review when addressed.

it actually WORKS!!! I had a compressor built-in to an "Improve YouTube" extension on Opera, but it wasn't made for Firefox.. and I couldn't fins ANY that would work on YT, let alone ALL the audio... but then I found this and it works GREAT! And I don't have to refresh any tabs or restart the browser either, it worked right away - THANK YOU DEV TEAM!!!

It literally has no effect whatsoever, it is literally nothing.

Works really good. Looks like it has regular updates as well.

the icon doesn't always update to show the correct on/off status. also wish the enable toggle is bigger.

This Audio compression extension add-on works amazingly well on a DELL XPS 13 Late 2018 (9370) with the default audio drivers installed.

I could not believe how good these made the built-in stereo speakers sound.

Works, but prevents my computer from sleeping on Windows 11 with a paused video open

Perfect, when listening to movies online this app lowers the volume of spikes, that is, weapon, loud music, explosions, etc., while keeping the dialogues at the same level. And also it has a functionality to boost sound, which makes it even better for audios with very loud sound.

Enabling this extension completely disables sound in some websites (like factorio.com). The sound only works when I open the video in a new tab. I have tried the 'none' preset too, but the sound only works when I disable the extension (either using the checkbox or using firefox). EDIT: Github issues shows that this is a Firefox problem, not an extension one. This problem can easily be fixed by disabling it for troublesome sites.

Sounds like it's doubling the audio.
