Press Ctrl+Shift+Space to detach a tab from its current window.

Press Ctrl+Shift+Space again to re-attach it to the parent window.

Press Ctrl+Shift+V to toggle "auto-detach", which will automatically detach all created tabs. You will receive a system notification like "Tabs enabled" or "Tabs disabled" depending on your current setting.

On Mac systems you should use Cmd instead of Ctrl.

Keyboard shortcuts are configurable under extension options.
