I can install this add-on on Firefox 66.0.3 64-bit on Linux Mint Tessa.
The add-on is not the problem.

It work, what else ? Maybe a favicon ? The current one expired, ecosia changed the url of their favicon, the new url is https://cdn.ecosia.org/assets/images/ico/favicon.ico
