NordVPN guarantees a strict no-logs policy for NordVPN services including NordVPN browser extension, meaning that your activities using NordVPN Services are provided by automated technical process and are not monitored, recorded, logged, stored or passed to any third party.
In order to maintain the service, the NordVPN also processes limited technical information, which sometimes may be considered personal data. This information is used for improving the functionality and usability of the NordVPN browser extension. If you decide not to provide this limited information, we may not be able to provide you with the full scope of the NordVPN services.
In order to improve the usability and monitor any possible connection issues within NordVPN browser extension, we use an internally built analytics library to collect minimal anonymous data. All information is not connected to a specific user, as we are following a strict no logs policy.
We use abovementioned library to collect events about user interactions within the extension’s interface. All event data is aggregated, so we cannot track any specific user’s pattern of interaction with the extension. The aggregate data helps us understand how users interact with the extension on average and improve it accordingly.
We also collect events about the connection state of the extension - time to connect, connection success rates, time connected, active device count etc. Therefore, these metrics serve for product improvement and error information. Again, that tells us nothing about the connection patterns of a specific user but provides information about any potential connection issues.
