Thank you so much for working on this extension!
Live was so hard without it, when it wasn't working with FF 57 - I am the only one in my dev team to use FF for website development - everyone else are on Chrome here. I'm using your extension on daily bases since 2009 - such a handy tool! The new version is working like a charm - so snappy quick and colorful. I can't express how happy I am to see it back in my browser! Once again, thank you, thank you, one hundred times thank you!

Now as for firefox....SHAME ON YOU!!!! Removing the ability for people to have these addons as toolbars was the biggest mistake you could have made. We should have full control over the tools we use and how we want to display them. I dont see why this was changed when it was preferred and used and at the end of the day NO ONE else is forced to have our individual setup. Taking away this features ability to be displayed as a toolbar and easily accessed has actually made me switch to using the GOOGLE CHROMEs browser as I am able to lay my developer toolbar out there as it should be. Start listening to your users please especially the people who use these great addons to make the internet an even greater place. I am so upset you ruined this addon I may even have to abandon the browser all together. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Sealex83, 7 lat temuThank you Chris, already it's super nice to have answered, it's rare enough to be mentioned.
I use this extension since it exists, and that's really what you do.
I will wait impatiently for the version with the French translation. Apologies for being impatient. ;) - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Firefox user 13508069, 7 lat temu

I have turned off cache and dns cache using previous version of Web Developer. Now cache is still suppressed, but I have no control to enable it again. Can You help please?Odpowiedź autora
Data: 7 lat temuYou can downgrade to Firefox 56 and reinstall the 1.2.13 version of Web Developer from here to change any of the old built-in browser settings:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-developer/versions/
Or you can use about:config to reset the browser.cache.disk.enable, browser.cache.memory.enable and network.dnsCacheExpiration preferences:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox
Or you can create a new profile, but that will remove all your settings including bookmarks etc:

A button somewhere on the side of the panel with a drop-down menu is not at all convenient. You need to do a lot of mouse clicks before you get the result

The five stars are all for Chris for developing this amazing tool and supporting it over the years. The newest version of Firefox (57) has absolutely neutered this extension. My response goes a little beyond just being sad. I'm actually feeling more than a little shock right now. I'm a professional web developer, and have been for well over a decade now. I've used the Web Developer plugin pretty much continually for as long as I remember. I've shown dozens of people this amazing tool; I've evangelized it all over the place. It truly is a cornerstone of my work and my career, I rely on it every bit as much as I do Illustrator, Photoshop or my IDE.
The new version of Firefox has clearly hobbled this add-on. It's upsetting because I've suffered with Firefox and its infuriating memory hole bugs through the years exclusively because of this amazing plugin. This could finally be the end of my time as a Firefox user. Can I live without this Add-on? Sure, but it undoubtedly makes the design implementation phase of my work much, much more difficult. The built-in developer tools (the likewise neutered Firebug) simply don't cut it, not for writing and editing style sheets.
Chris, I'm not sure how I can thank you enough for building and giving away this amazing tool. I hope the Firefox folks will correct their mistake in the very near future. I genuinely feel a little sick over this, time for a tall glass of wine. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Firefox user 12903943, 7 lat temuGreat add-on, my constant companion for years. But with the latest Firefox changes, 2 of its most useful (to me) features - CSS > Display Style Information and Information > View document size - are gone. Workaround! What I did was: a) Downloaded and installed Waterfox (I have v.55), then (b) installed in Waterfox an older version of Webdeveloper from the URL Chris gave: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-developer/versions/ I got Version 1.2.13. (c) Make sure you set Waterfox updates to "let you choose whether to install them" and set the webdeveloper add-on to "Automatic updates: off", otherwise you might launch Waterfox one day and find you've got webdeveloper 2. Adding an add-on to Waterfox is the same as for Firefox - you'll get a message saying "add to Firefox", but if you're doing it from Waterfox, it adds it to Waterfox. All of this is just to keep "the old webdeveloper" working, cannot vouch for it being safe.
Oh and... be careful. Waterfox just advised me to update to the new "responsive design" module (or whatever), which I did. And webdeveloper lost half of its tricks. Will have to restore the system, I guess. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Firefox user 13465293, 7 lat temuI know the "disable javascript" Tab has gone, but I need to put the javascript on. All slideshows and dropdown menus are no more working since update to Firefox Quantum.
