por random user, há 6 mesesAwkward semi-paid scheme, especially for a crowdsourced project. That alone makes me not want to contribute since the dev might at an point decide to remove access.
The replaced thumbnails are very hit and miss. Replacing clickbait is one thing, but this extension just want to replace all of them indiscriminatingly, removing useful information. Quite a bit are literally just replaced with blank images or other junk...

publicado há 5 mesesBy default, most thumbnails are replaced with random screenshots to try to let you get a sense of what the video is like. This can be changed in the settings to show the original thumbnails instead of you prefer them.
All the crowdsourced data is public and under a creative commons license (https://sponsor.ajay.app/database). The code is also fully open source under the GPL. The magic of open source is that anyone can continue the project or fork it to their own desire.

publicado há 24 diasHi, clickbait remover is another extension that you are free to use if you want. It has different features though and does not have any crowdsourcingResposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 24 diasHi, this will be fixed in 2.2.1. It might take up to two weeks for the update to be reviewed by Mozilla, but you can download the beta here: https://github.com/ajayyy/DeArrow/releases/tag/2.2.1- Avaliado em 1 de 5por Usuário 19587603 do Firefox, há um mês

Edit: "When someone spams my email..." 4 days went by with no response, then I gave some information I thought would be useful and thought I had found the issue, to which I closed my issue post on your github page. 6 full days went by until the issue popped up again, where I reopened the issue. I mentioned something I noticed when moving the tab/window playing a YT video and 3 more full days went by without a word. That's spam to you? You've got a very skewed definition of the word "spam" if that's how you think...Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há um mêsWhen someone spams my email, I am a lot less interested in spending time helping them out. I am always happy to help people who are respectful - Avaliado em 2 de 5por Taw, há 2 mesesI installed it and am using it to replace a much better addon that is no longer updated. I only care about two features: changing the case of titles and replacing thumbnails with video frames.
I have a couple problems with DeArrow:
Similar to SponsorBlock, the crowdsourced nature of it makes it very unreliable. There are many cases of overly opinionated user submissions that conflict with the original material in one way or another.
There are settings to remove the crowdsource functionality and make it work the way I described above, but getting it to do that wasn't very easy and required some hoops to be jumped through.
The much bigger set of hoops is the process of getting to use the addon. You cannot use the addon for free, and the description is misleading.
To get access you need to first click a button to decline paying, then you need to apply for free access, you do not get free access immediately, so you have to start your short free trial. My trial expired before I was granted free access. I was very tempted to uninstall the plugin at every step of this way, and the experience means I will never donate.
I understand the desire to make money off this, but this attitude sucks when it actively and very successfully disrupts the usability of the tool. I am not recommending it to other people. Will drop it if I ever make my own addon to replace the old clickbait remover, or find an alternative.
Maybe this is petty and vindictive, but I'm so tired of all the bullshit and lack of groovy attitudes.Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há um mêsThe goal is to make an add-on that anyone can use for free if they want to, instead of paywalling it. Anyone can request free access to use DeArrow for free, no questions asked, because I think that's the right thing to do.
At the same time, people buying DeArrow is how I pay my rent, so I appreciate anyone who chooses to do so. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Josy, há 2 meses
- Avaliado em 5 de 5por den, há 2 mesesThis makes YouTube SO MUCH BETTER! Videos I would never click on are made way more interesting now that I can actually see what they're about. Every YouTuber feels the need to oversimplify their thumbnails and titles to make it more "clickable", but for some of us, that has the opposite effect. Thank you for making the YouTube experience better.
- Avaliado em 4 de 5por LongRamen, há 2 mesesplease update it to work with the recent new youtube layout! the button to show/hide the replaced thumbnail/title now moves around when you try to click it, very annoying
