por Usuário 19007388 do Firefox, há 5 mesesMAY ETERNAL PRAISE BE UNTO YOU. I had already left Chrome and was about to quit all things Google. Absolute nonsense, AI Overview. This is Google the way it was meant to be, like in 1999. One clean screen and 10 blue links.

publicado há um diaThere is no other way to disable AI Overviews on Google Search, because it is embedded in the page results. If we just hid it the AI resources would still be spent. That's why we redirect to the Web tab. You can disallow the addon from running in Private windows if you still want the ability to use some of the other features, but AI will still run then. Or you can remove the addon.- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 19661502 do Firefox, há 5 dias

They talk about water and energy consumption of AI in their about section so its unbelievable this is part of it. Perplexity uses the same logo as this addon and it was removed from firefox when I removed this extension.Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 13 diasThis is simply not true. This addon does not add any AI chatbots and the logo is not the same as Perplexity. Firefox added Perplexity as a search engine option recently, and this developer had nothing to do with that. https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/firefox-144/
Also, the source code for this addon is open and available for review to see that all we do is add CSS to hide page elements and block or redirect specific url requests. https://github.com/jruns/disable-ai - Avaliado em 5 de 5por luni.ART.ic, há 19 diasCreated a profile just for this. Amazing plugin, I can finally use Google search without having to scroll forever!

Testing it in Android/Firefox now.
How does it do it?
Edit: found this in GitHub, thanks!

- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Daniel, há 2 mesesThis extension is very power to disable AI overview. I am very like their solution: Stop all actions, requests of AI overviews. I used it on my laptop, so good. Thanks for your help.

- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 17957926 do Firefox, há 3 mesesThis is the ONLY anti-AI extension that still blocks Google's AI slop on mobile. 5/5
- Avaliado em 5 de 5por shinae, há 3 mesesThis is amazing!
Most AI blocking add-ons merely hide it from search results, but this one blocks it altogether which is what I've been looking for.
I hate that the forced implementation of AI in search engines is contributing to the depletion of drinking water, pollution of marginalized communities, rapidly rising electricity costs, and spread of misinformation.
None of us consented to this!
Tools like this help us opt out of being complicit.
Forever grateful and will spread the word about its existence! - Avaliado em 5 de 5por lee terry, há 3 mesesWas looking for a way to disable this crap by default on brave search till I asked using the "ask ai" button.
The setting for that gets cleared when I close my browser along with a ton of other data and it defaults always on (meaning I had to reset the option every time I closed the browser).
So, I got this and set it on my bar at the top. Now, when I wanna search and ask AI right away I click the icon in the top of my browser, then change the addon settings from "always allow" to "on click" only to revert the change back after I am finished. Plus, if I wanna ask after I search I can just click the ask button and it works even with the addon running.
It does the job I wanted perfectly, that is worth it at least 4 stars, but the fact that its easy to use warranted 5 imo. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 19476224 do Firefox, há 4 meses
