It did an excellent job before the FF update.
Reinstalling the extension or deactivating all other extensions doesn't help.
After checking again, I found out that there are only certain sites I cannot visit. One is https://www.computerbox.at/ although connected to AustriaResposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 2 anosHello, I can't reproduce from my side. May I advise checking the permissions of the extensions (in about:addons) are all enabled and if still not working trying to re-install the extension? - Avaliado em 1 de 5por Dr Mortaza, há 2 anos
- Avaliado em 2 de 5por Usuário 17954442 do Firefox, há 2 anosAlthough I love the idea behind the app, using it has seriously downgraded my internet experience. Works fine after installation, but alfter closing my browser and restarting it, it shows connected but none of my (buffered) pages will load. Disconnecting and reconnecting more often than not results in the app saying it can't make a connection to the server. The only way I get it to work so far is disconnecting vpn, loading pages without the vpn connection, and then connecting VPN again - miraculously, suddenly, it connects to the servers. But having to load pages without vpn first seems to beat the purpose of it. This is not the robust proton applicatin quality I've come to love, I'll be switching back to the desktop app.

- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 17951441 do Firefox, há 2 anosI've been using Proton VPN for a while now. Very nice, but why are some sites/apps unresponsive with VPN ON? As for this extension, how is having a Firefox VPN extension different than connecting to VPN system-wide through the Proton app?
- Avaliado em 3 de 5por Usuário 16118621 do Firefox, há 2 anosBug report: Great VPN extension, however one annoying problem. After waking my laptop from sleep, the VPN connection cannot establish itself. The only way to enable normal operation is to dis/enable the extension.
Actually two problems. When the connection is in the process of connecting, the notification already claims it is connected to xx country. So the devs issue the notification too early. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 17949073 do Firefox, há 2 anosI would rate 5 stars, however it is quite annoying to have a notification every few minutes when the connection is established, or re-established - if there is a way to mute these notifications, this would be a huge improvement. The constant pings are distracting and unnecessary.
EDIT: My bad - there is indeed a setting to mute notifications!Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 2 anosThere is a notification setting to disable them (See Features in the left side-bar). We're also investigating why on some devices the extension is seeing a state change while still connected to the same server. - Avaliado em 3 de 5por Usuário 17948934 do Firefox, há 2 anosIt's great to finally have an extension option for connecting to ProtonVPN, but it seems to be a little buggy.
Every few minutes I get another notification saying a VPN connection has been established. I can turn off notifications, but it seems for whatever reason it is losing and reestablishing connection every few minutes, but doesn't provide any information as to why that's the case. - Avaliado em 4 de 5por Usuário 13325126 do Firefox, há 2 anosUnfortunately quite frequent reconnections, visible on the popup, which I quickly turned off.
The super-fast connection at browser start or after standby or hibernation should be emphasized positively in any case. Clearly better than the Windows app by a large margin.
If you need Killswitch, you have to use the app for the operating system, the browser extension does not have that.
Split tunneling also works very well: Now I don't always have to switch browsers for my online banking page, for example. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 14428996 do Firefox, há 2 anosProton rocks, top notch service, I use every one of their products, and am not dissapointed at al, and I'm a retired network admin and sysadmin with a huge focus on security, as I worked for a CLEC phone company.. Highly recommend
- It's nice to have a proton vpn extension. However, after successfully conneting, all traffic in the browser is blocked by the company firewall. The extension needs measures to circumvent blocks, otherwise is useless in most relevant cases (or countries).
edit: secure core is blocked too. Using the proton desktop application, only stealth protocol is able to connectResposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 2 anosHello, can you maybe try Secure Core, as it's using a different port on the browser extension, if a firewall is blocking by port, it might fix it. - I'm not a 'heavy' user however this add-on works perfectly for me. I'm really enjoying being able to tunnel my browser traffic through the VPN whilst keeping other traffic open (e.g. logging in to my workplace's email server) at the click of a button. This is perfect for me, and when I need a little more grunt then I can just jump over to the desktop client etc.
