Social Watch is a privacy-respecting browser extension that helps users monitor public engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares) on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

What we collect
Nothing. This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or browsing history.All monitoring happens locally in your browser.

What we do
- Social Watch observes public interaction counters (e.g., number of likes on a post) on pages you choose to monitor.
- No platform APIs, login data, or cookies are accessed.
- All configurations and settings are stored locally using chrome.storage.local.

Optional Logging (Future Feature)

Permissions
- tabs: Needed to activate or switch to your monitored pages.
- storage: Used to remember your monitoring preferences and history.
- downloads (optional): Used only when the user chooses to download log files.
