Acerca desta extensão
Sit-In! is an activist browser-extension that extends and documents a physical sit-in organised by tech workers in Nairobi 2023. Install to join this digital sit-in in solidarity with the fight against the exploitative working conditions imposed by Meta and its subcontractors!
Developed in collaboration with former Facebook content moderators in Nairobi, the project confronts the exploitation inherent to digital services, where low-paid moderators are tasked with filtering the Internet’s most toxic content, often at great personal cost.

The participating moderators are part of a landmark legal case against Meta - the first of its kind in which a Global South workforce is holding a tech giant accountable in a national court.

Sit-In! is a tool powered by the voices of this largely invisible workforce. When activated, the extension blocks the view of Meta's social media platforms, instead overlaying statements from the former content moderators. These statements bring our hidden labour into view, sharing our stories, dreams, and demands to expose the systemic exploitation embedded in Big Tech. Sit-In! turns the interface into a platform for protest.

Join our movement, install the extension, and help make invisible labour visible - Sit-In!
