This add-on used to work great, but like many similar extensions, it hasn’t been keeping up with YouTube’s recent changes — hover previews are back to autoplaying non-stop for me.

Just switched to a brand-new userscript that’s only ~2 weeks old and already has flawless 5-star reviews:
→ Search GreasyFork for “YouTube - Block Autoplay Preview Thumbnail & Channel Trailer”
→ Install it with Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey (both available on Firefox too).

What I love about this script:
• 100% blocks thumbnail hover previews + channel trailers
• Updates come lightning-fast whenever YouTube breaks something
• Zero background permissions, way lighter than any extension
• Works perfectly on Firefox too

As someone who dislikes previews (since YouTube adds that video to your watch history if you let it go for too long) this has been a must-have for me since YouTube keeps re-enabling previews in my settings.

Does exactly what it says it does. No more autoplaying previews. Nice and clean look, 10/10 extension
