So happy to have found this rewrite after ToggleGifs (or whatever the name was *bad memory*) wouldn't work with new FF. I'm rating 4 stars only because there doesn't appear to be a way to turn animations back on after you Shift+Esc to turn them off other than reloading the entire page. If that feature could be added (maybe Ctrl+Shift+Esc to reverse), this would be full-on 5 stars for me. Thank you!

    Abandoned software? Authors should disclose which versions of Firefox are supported in the add-on description.

    Doesn't work in Firefox 110.0 -- it doesn't add any icon to the toolbar, and even after changing the key sequence, it still will not stop animated GIFs.

    Was working for me - until Firefox 108.0 when the default Shift-ESC key combination started to be used to open the about:processes tab.
    Any suggestions for a good free key combination to use for it going forward?

    I consider this add-on one of the best in the repository. But now want to draw the developer's attention to the fact that it stopped working!

    This add-on used to be a godsend against Gifs and other animated/autoplaying content. You could also bind the SuperStop functionality to just the Esc key, making it even more natural to use. That's what the 5/5 rating is for.

    Unfortunately, it no longer works, effectively, 1/5. Please make this work again!

    Updated review for 4 July 2024: This was excellent back when it worked. Sadly it hasn't had any fixes in almost 4 years, and a Firefox update in 2022 broke it.

    It's a must-have add-on, but it does not work everywhere anymore, for example on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation and on https://www.nrc.nl/. I hope you can repair the issue. Thank you.

    Still gave it 5 stars because SuperStop has worked perfect for years, but disappointed just now in seeing that it doesn't stop animated gifs in the Insticator commenting platform.

    This extension works every time. I will not use a browser that autoplays animations. This extension stops them quickly with a simple key combo. Great work! Thank you.

    A huge sigh of relief to find this! Thank you. -1 star because it would be better as a stop/start toggle. Sometimes it's hard to stop the animation at the right point (need to read it for example).
