Thanks for your feedback. The permission is required solely to inject a small CSS snippet that displays the colored tab indicator line on pages. Without it, the extension cannot function.

TabTint does not collect, store, or transmit any user data. It only reads the page URL to match your color rules, and all settings are stored locally on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no external servers.
