Stuck at "Aquiring metadata", doing nothing.

It says here that this is an experimental tool, and this experiment has failed. There are too many bugs in the tool and it adds things that shouldn't be added. In essence, it's a tool that brings nothing new except new problems and headaches. I have to fix everything after I add something using this tool. I'm sorry, but this is a huge no for me.

This is a great idea for an extension, but unfortunately it just doesn't work.

It's so user unfriendly and anti-Wikidata tool that it adds all sorts of unwanted gibberish in the form of aliases like this one wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q2013&diff=prev&oldid=2337369192 that shouldn't be added at all. The fact that all these options are enabled by default is just so annoying... It should be disabled and made optional as soon as possible! smh

I'm sorry I only wrote "Very helpful". It is a very helpful tool. It supports me in many tasks end gives me an easy way to add data from my sources to the wikidata where the wikidata itself offers no supportive editing tool. So thank you for a lot of time saved by providing this tool!

Many of the one-star-ratings here are plain cruel. Yes this tool sometimes does not work which is indeed very frustrating. It sometimes lasts for hours and I could not identify the source of the problems. I assume some timeout issue from the wikidata. And I'm frustrated when that happens but when it works it saves me a lot of time which is why I miss it when that happens.

Saying "tool may be useful for newbies, but certainly not for experienced Wikidata editors" is like getting cheap hammer from a fried and complaining that it its not a high grade stainless stell hammer for carpenters - its just cruel.

This tool may be useful for newbies, but certainly not for experienced Wikidata editors, as no one in their right mind would use P854 in references. In case anyone else is not aware, this tool is unhelpful when it is being used in references because it relies on the incorrect (from the Wikidata point of view) P854 property instead of the existing Wikidata external identifier. I don't recommend it to anyone until the obvious major errors are corrected.

The new update opens faster, but I can't use it anymore for linking Wikipedia pages to wikidata. It doesn't open the "match item" and "add properties" fields, just the "(Language) Wikipedia" item. Other websites work fine, though.

I found a workaround by opening the mobile version on the desktop.

Update: 2025. this thing is is awesome and work super fast for adding identifiers. I love it!

A button (or something similar) that opens a new tab with the Wikidata page for the item in question would be nice.
