Started up YouTube today and the thumbnails on my 32 inch monitor went from around 6 or so per line to 3 per line. So I did a search and it seems this has been happening on YouTube lately and for Firefox YouTube Tweaks was suggested.

I installed it and was able to get the number of thumbnails back to 6 and even was able to increase it more, I settled on 8.

Only thing I couldn't seem to fix was Shorts are still too large, but I may have missed something.

There are also a lot more tweaks like removing shorts, which I have been playing around with.

I uploaded a new version minutes ago that adds options to change Shorts and posts per row. Please give feedback if it's working well for you.

    Best tweaks ever, installed to fix the problem Youtube caused to show only 3 videos per row that makes zero sense.
    With the Youtube new player interface released recently, there is an issue for the feature in Watch page when enabled Keep progress bar always at bottom, the progress bar is not able to click on most of the time.

    a lot of youtube extensions do too much to change the intended experience. This suite of tweaks and optional features has got to be the best way to enjoy the platform.

    Edit: Got the update on 7/7/2025 and everything seems to be working again. Much appreciated. I'd really forgotten how unbearable YT is without add-ons like this.

    Most options work as advertised, but currently (7/4/2025) the options involving the side bar on the watch page such as opening channels from the sidebar, hide shorts and other items, and dim watched videos seem to be broken. Similar functions on other extensions seem to be broken as well, so I'm guessing YT updated something recently that borked it for everyone. It'd be great to get that fixed. It baffles me that I even need an extension to get YT to stop shoving the same 98% watched videos in my face constantly.

    Yes, this is due to YT changes. The next version, which fixes this, is currently awaiting approval from Mozilla. I expect it to be available in 3-5 days.

    Please check the Search settings in the plugin. They don't seem to be working properly in grid view. The Youtube search page is crumbling. Shorts ruin everything.

    I installed it to fix the comically large default thumbnails, but this has so much more! Especially love the themes... and being able to get rid of shorts.

    I love this extension and I have a feature request, can you possibly add in a toggle to block that "This video contains paid promotion" Banner/Subtitle, CC button, and Unmute button on Thumbnails? I accidentally click on them all the time in the compact view.

    Do you need the video preview feature? You can disable it in youtube settings > playback and performance > video previews
