- Evaluat(ă) cu 4 din 5 stelede Coldblackice, 6 ani în urmăGreat addon! The only thing missing that it could really use is the ability to whitelist -- whitelist by domain, or even better, whitelist by any part of a URL that's seen.
As an example, the Skip-Redirect addon does this, and it works well (I'm not advertising that addon; they're different addons that serve different purposes). Otherwise, you have to disable this addon's functionality altogether when a certain site isn't working.
What would also be great is if there was a notification or popup that could appear when stripping occurs. Skip-Redirect also does this and it's helpful to know, since sometimes functionality on a site breaks and it can be confusing what caused it (the website itself, uBlock Origin, Skip-Redirect, other addons, etc).

postat la 6 ani în urmăThanks for your positive feedback. You can see a little orange badged at the top right corner from the ClearURLs icon, that increases with every action ClearURLs takes for the current URL in the active tab. - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Kamkar, 6 ani în urmă

You're great, Kevin Röbert. - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Mattew, 6 ani în urmăI am really happy that this extension now is on the Mozilla Recommended list! Great work!
- Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede aviva, 7 ani în urmăThis is really good! When i click a link in my mail, it cleaned of the weird long links that im sure is a tracking link. This extension should really be among the recommended by mozilla.

You're good at guessing. Mozilla has a little surprise in the next weeks for ClearURLs ;) - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Utilizator Firefox 13492323, 7 ani în urmă

One issue I found (couldn't find a place to report the bug) is that it breaks the forwarding for email links generated by the Twitter news aggregator nuzzel.com; a manual whitelist feature would be a great way to deal with edge cases like that.
*EDIT - above issue seems fixed; but whitelist feature would still be great.* - Evaluat(ă) cu 4 din 5 stelede exLSD, 7 ani în urmăGood extension. But there is a problem: it blocks playback on sites.
Instead of the video we get the text:
"Cyclical redirection on the page
Firefox has determined that the server redirects the request to this address in such a way that it will never end.
This problem may occur when disabling or prohibiting the acceptance of cookies."
What is the problem?Răspunsul dezvoltatorului

Can you please describe your problem in more details. The best way to do this is to open an issue at the gitlab page of ClearURLs or email me to clearurls_1@kevinroebert.de and please add the log to your report. - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Henrique Sant'Anna, 7 ani în urmă
- Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Utilizator Firefox 15076628, 7 ani în urmăIt is nice but i can't understand why it does not work with Twitter ref urls. Also the "cleaning tool" does not work with Twitter, there is a reason?
EDIT: now it works like a charme, thanks!Răspunsul dezvoltatorului

- Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Utilizator Firefox 15109409, 7 ani în urmăIts the best set and forget URL cleaner out of the top 5 or 6 or so I have tested! 130+ patterns and counting, giving it wide coverage, on top of that, though not based on global algorithms, its patterns offer SOME fail safe functionality similar to "Skip Redirect!". Only thing I would ask for is a setting to disable ad blocking. Not a huge issue but Adblocking dirties the log and stats with redundant information... most users using this extension will already use an adblocker. Best URL Cleaner, IMO!
[update: I have found this addon does block some domains on amazon for example that ublock does not... increasing user privacy] - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede tmk333, 7 ani în urmă

- Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Utilizator Firefox 13371234, 7 ani în urmăI was previously using a different addon, Neat URL. I disabled that one so I could give ClearURLs a proper try. However, I realized that every time I restart Firefox, ClearURLs gets disabled, and Neat URL is re-enabled. Suspecting some sort of misbehavior from Neat URL, I fully removed Neat URL. However, even after that, ClearURLs is still showing as disabled in my addons list every time I restart Firefox. What's going on? I've never seen this behavior with any other addon.
EDIT: I figured out what was going on. Back when Mozilla had the certificate debacle that resulted in addons getting disabled en masse for everyone, I made my extensions.json file read-only as an attempt to keep my addons forcibly enabled. After the official fixes from Mozilla, I forgot to uncheck "read-only" from extensions.json. ClearURLs was the first new addon I've tried since that time. Anyway, when I tried to disable all my addons as a test, they came up as re-enabled when I restarted Firefox. That's when I finally suspected my extensions.json. So, I realized that was still read-only. Fixing that, now everything is working as expected. I'll update my ClearURLs rating to 5-stars. - Evaluat(ă) cu 5 din 5 stelede Utilizator Firefox 12836761, 7 ani în urmăA well written, good looking, easy to use, add-on.
On checking the log, having used ClearURLs for some time, it was great to see how it was busily removing tracking info from so many links.
Thanks to author from a happy user in Scotland!
