This version adds compatibility with PassLok Universal, which is about to be released in this store. It is very much like PassLok for Email, except that it runs with any email service, not just Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook. It also includes the SynthPass password manager and PageCage, for isolating pages. Check it out.

Version 0.5 is here! This is a huge update, centered around security.

The code has moved from the email page to a separate popup, inaccessible to any other add-on or the email page itself. This took a lot or programming, and we hope it works smoothly enough. It is a bit clunkier on Firefox than on Chrome because Firefox does not allow program-driven resizing, so the dialogs all all the same dimensions on Firefox. The possible clunkiness is worth the much greater security, anyway.

Now that we were at it, we added the missing asymmetric encryption mode of PassLok Privacy, and its three symmetric, or shared Password, modes. This only added a couple radio buttons in one of the dialogs.

In Anonymous mode, you can use a dummy email account, and your messages can still be decrypted by all recipients (who must trust they do come from you, however). Shared Password mode works when there is already a secret in common between sender and recipients. This could be a standard password (different from your personal Password for the other modes), a long piece of text for near-perfect unbreakability, or three words joined by tildes (~), which someone with a totally bugged computer can decrypt (or encrypt) by hand, with pencil and paper.

And as a result, the code is smaller now! It weighs in at less than 200 kB. You probably don't have too many add-ons that are so lightweight.

Version 0.4.15 adds the ability to import PassLok Privacy word Locks via text file.

In order to improve security, hashili has been reduced to four letters and is no longer visible by default. Click the eye icon once to make it visible, and again to make the whole password visible.

Version 0.4.13 restores integration with Outlook online, which Microsoft updated to a new look.

This version fixes integration with Gmail. Integration with Outlook is still broken ,but will be fixed in next version.

PassLok for Email is prettier now, thanks to a new eye icon for passwords. To reassure you that you typed your password correctly, PassLok now shows you a mnemonic Hashili word.

Inviting someone has just gotten easier, since the recipient of your invitation no longer needs to "accept your new Password," which might be confusing to someone new to PassLok.

Version 0.4.9 fixes a bug in the integration with Gmail, which affected decrypting messages containing multiple quoted previous emails.

This version restored integration with Gmail and Outlook online. The chat function is still broken, and will be fixed next.

Nice bonus: conversation database now syncs through your Firefox login, so you can move to another machine, log into Firefox, and continue conversations as if you were still at your old machine. No need to backup data and copy it to a now location.

Version 0.4.3 fixes the integration with Gmail's reply and compose screens, which was broken due to a change in Gmail.
