Great add-on! Very ergonomic, slick and elegant.
One tiny complaint, though: in my opinion, the tab icon is too bright and eye-catching (with a dark theme, that is). A barely visible transparent gray square with a fully transparent "A" in it would've fit an "empty tab" much better. Something like that would probably work nicely with any browser theme as well.

Excellent and very useful extension! It just lacks favicons in the lists a bit.

v3.0.x is much slower than 2.4.2. with about 70 bookmarks, it takes about a half second longer for the page to render

Thanks for reporting this. I started noticing it too but it took me a little while to figure it out because it only happens in the Firefox version for some reason. Anyway, I just posted an update, 3.0.8, that should speed up rendering of the bookmarks list. If after updating it still seems slow, let me know. blake@afinestart.me

This is my absolute favourite add-on of all time. I run different browsers for different projects, and have bookmarks associated with each of them, and AFineStart let's me keep tabs (pun intended) on my bookmarks by being able to import/export them as a plain text JSON file. Plus the developer is cool

Great extension, I love the minimalist design. I wanted something cleaner than start.me and I found it here. Also, it would be awesome to have an option for toggling on/off the favicons of the websites we put in our page.

A very good add-on. Gives you total control and is easy to edit, etc.

Hey I’m sorry this happened. It shouldn’t happen but it may be possible that the browser clears the extension's memory under certain circumstances. If you do decide to use it again, one preventative measure is to save an export. https://afinestart.me/help#import-export

Superb. Works as intended, I love its minimalism.

It would be nice to have the ability to change colour schemes like some classic gruvbox, dracula, solarized, nord, etc.

And maybe a bit more spacing between the categories' titles and the bookmarks?

it was perfect, clean and functional. Unfortunately today it doesnt work anymore.reinstalled boththe extension and FFox without luck.

Very straightforward and neat page. It would be awesome if the add and reorder buttons appear in settings or upon hover. Keep up the good work!!

That’s a good idea. It would make the design more minimal. I'll consider that in a future version.

Update: The developer responded to my original review and addressed the issues I had with the extension and I have changed my rating to 5/5 because now there is really nothing wrong with it.

Original review: Nice that it has plain text links instead of thumbnails like most alternatives. The interface is simple and easy to use, but there seems to be no way to delete a group or change its name after creating it. Pretty much a deal killer as you will inevitably end up with empty groups with no way to get rid of them. Website has no documentation covering this and developer website has no way to contact.

Hey, thanks for the review. When you edit a link there is an option to rename the group. A group is automatically deleted once you delete the last link in the group.

Love how simple and functional this is.

I tried setting it to home page as well (by using moz-extension://8e7f5414-cebd-884f-af49-f8c0b264770a/bookmarks/index.html as the Help page suggests) but it does not work. It only loads a blank black page.

Edit: Okay I solved it. I opened an A Fine Start tab page > right click > Inspect Element > Storage > Under Cookies there is a new moz-extension ID. I replaced this ID with the path above and now it loads the home page with A Fine Start when I start a new window.

I wish Firefox could simple let people set their home page as a new tab page easily as on Chrome.

Got tired of having big thumbnails with my other extensions so I looked high and low for something that would just let me group text links cleanly. This certainly does that. Very little to complain about. Maybe some small things like padding between groups, or the ability to include the favicon in front of the list item. Small stuff like that.

Looks clean, doesn't seem to have any shady things going on in it, and appears to be just a set of links, instead of some 3rd party remote call links like a lot of other extensions like this seem to do.
