Writing a review for their extension is challenging because it's hard to know how much of the bad UX is from their extension and how much is just rot from their bad data model

That said, they could make the extension easier to use if they chose to. For example, if you want a new password field - not _the_ password field but _a_ new password field, your only recourse is to click on the huge plus, generate a password, then click edit on the item, create a new hidden text field and paste the generated password, being very careful not to allow anything to interfere with your clipboard in the interim. What a disaster. The gold standard (1Password) has a dedicated "password" field and underneath that field is a dedicated "generate password" action

The fact that Proton Pass has been stuck in this 2000s UX for as long as I've been using it demonstrates that they really don't care at all about their users, no matter how many "vote for features!!11" forums they offer

I'm really happy with proton overall. I'd suggest few minor tweaks more a QOL rather than a necessity. It works perfectly as it is.

very easy to use and setup. Especially handy to have multiple vaults to separate work-stuff from private-stuff.

Paid proton pass subscription constantly signs out on it's own even while I'm signed in to the same proton account for email in the adjacent tab, with or without paid proton VPN plus. Often will not fill log-ins on popular websites and at times clicking icon doesn't even show info for copy paste to sign in. Hasn't offered a way to use "email alias" for signing up on new web sites for months. All of this occurs with three different, up-to-date browsers with other extensions, ad-blocking and security disabled, on Two Very Different Windows Computers! I have uninstalled, cleared all browsing data, and reinstalled with no change. In short - a very frustrating, faulty password manager and a complete waste of money. Proton Developer - PLEASE don't bother with your standard "that doesn't sound right", "more information" and "Contact us" drivel. Fix it or don't; I'm moving back to a functional and reliable alternative provider.

I switched to Proton from another pwd provider. It was a good choice. Everything is just a little quicker and nicer to use.

Autosave password prompt only flashes for a second before webpage finishes loading. If you don't click it immediately, you have to manually enter the password.

Proton continues to lead the way in privacy. Their passkey implementation is intuitive and works flawlessly. It’s great to have a secure, encrypted vault that manages both my passwords and passkeys in one place. Using it as a browser extension is incredibly convenient.

I have used this service for more than a year. During this time, I've had no issues. This tool is extremely useful and I feel safe knowing my information is not being sold nor used for questionable purposes.

Finally a trustable password manager. Autofill is lacking sometimes.
