RASTATAB ("the Extension", "we", "our") is a browser extension that allows users to color-code their browser tabs. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use RASTATAB.

The Short Version

RASTATAB collects no personal data. Period.

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, browsing data, or usage data of any kind. Everything happens locally in your browser.

Data Collection

RASTATAB does not collect:

• Tab contents or page data
• Search queries

• Analytics or usage statistics

Data Storage

All data used by RASTATAB is stored locally on your device using your browser's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.local and localStorage). This data includes:

• Which tabs you have assigned a color to (stored by tab ID, not URL)
• Your tab's original favicon URL (for restoration when color is removed)
• Voice support compatibility flag (to remember if your browser supports voice commands)

This data is:

• Never transmitted to any server
• Never shared with any third party
• Automatically deleted when you close a colored tab
• Completely removed if you uninstall the extension

Permissions Explained

RASTATAB requests the following browser permissions, each for a specific and necessary purpose:

Voice Commands (Chrome Only)

When you activate voice commands (Alt+M), RASTATAB uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API. Voice data is processed by Google's speech recognition service (a standard Chrome feature) — not by RASTATAB. We do not record, store, or transmit any audio. Voice recognition can be toggled on/off at any time and automatically stops after recognizing a command.

Third-Party Services

RASTATAB does not use any third-party services, including:

• No analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
• No advertising networks
• No crash reporting services
• No external APIs or servers
• No CDNs or external resources

The only external service interaction is Chrome's built-in Web Speech API when voice commands are actively in use, which is a standard browser feature controlled by Google, not by RASTATAB.

Children's Privacy

RASTATAB does not collect any data from any user, including children. The extension is suitable for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will post the new version on our website with the updated date. Since RASTATAB collects no data, we do not anticipate significant changes.

Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or export. If you wish to remove all locally stored RASTATAB data, simply uninstall the extension.
