Works great, like the description says you can chose how you block by video, channel or keywords. No more annoying "recommended for you" from certain channels that youtube pushes because they are partners.


I had this on Firefox and had to clear plugins so I'm going back and gathering up all the plugins I used previously.
I just had to get this one again.

Edit: Because of the people in the comments saying it doesn't work anymore I just checked it on youtube as of the date of writing this, November 18, 2017 I can confirm on my PC Video Blocker STILL works.

I love following certain gaming channels for about one or two of their usual ongoing Let's Plays but they frequently "spam" my subscription page with 80% of their content that I just don't care for. This makes it much harder to see content from other creators sometimes. So I set those specific titles, usually X Plays Y, as blocked. Now all I get is what I subscribed for. This should be a feature Youtube offers by default but don't.

It's easy to set up, easy to block stuff with, and you see the results instantly without refreshing so you can immediately rectify any mistakes you may have made. I cannot recommend this enough and will donate once I'm able to.

I used to pass much, much time on youtube videos that were pretty stupid.. Plus, I used to get many recommendations of youtube channels I didn't want to watch videos from.

And, OMG, this "Video Blocker" came in my life.

It definitely works like a charm, you just have to copy the channel name, check that there is no space added in front or at the back, and paste in the "Add" tab with the "Channel" option.

Then, you'll never see the video channel in recommendations or elsewhere.

Now I watch only music and educational videos. It really helped me stop losing time on totally useless videos. Two thumbs up to the dev , thanks you very much Lemonrice !

Edit : I saw the other comments about the update that makes it does not work anymore.. But it seems to have solutions too. I may be lucky, it never stopped working perfectly for me !

Thanks again for the great job. This addon has become an essential for me when browsing youtube. I get so many more relevant videos in the recommendations without creating an account.

You can block all the shitty Youtuber with crap content

I found the temporary fix from a YT video from TechTips.
Go to your signin logo on the far right top, click, scroll down, and choose Restore Classic Youtube. Tell them something is broken, and that is video blocker. Good luck!

So simple, so effective, no more spam or repetitive junk in my youtube searches. I can enjoy youtube without having to search and search through irrelevant videos and clickbait, or 30 different news channels uploading the same story. Just right click the video, and right there at the bottom, it says "block videos from this channel" so I just click it and done! No more CNN! Hurray!!
It doesn't work with the new youtube layout, but that's okay, because some of my other add-ons don't either, so I had to revert to old youtube anyway.
Also, my CPU and internet signal are crap, and this add-on doesn't affect it a bit. That was the 5 star kicker for me. Very impressive. Thank you so very, very much developer.

Not the developers fault. Youtube changed it's display system and broke this addon - but you can go under your icon on youtube in the upper right hand corner and change to old youtube view ... then this addon will work again. Hopefully the developer here will do an update for the new youtube view.

After youtube changed the viewing experience, at least after aug. 17, this stopped working.

I regret so much about making a lowest rate. Actually, one only needs to close the new features on YouTube to get it working. Besides, to import a list, one only needs to find the folder "jid1-3OQ5HY7YsLBV7Q@jetpack" in "\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ipma0ofh.default\browser-extension-data", and revise the file "storage.js" therein.

UPDATED: it is claimed that both issues have been fixed in the latest Version 5.2.6. Will try it later.

Old review: I'm so sorry to give the lowest rate. It's only working for the first time and then doesn't work any more. I tried reinstalling it but it didn't help. And I can't even import the file, neither by the menu button or by the method suggested on their page.

It is also noted that it's been a year since last update. Is it because of the incompatibility of the firefox update? Could you help look into it?

I sure hope you get this working again. I had to block a heck of a lot of channels, often for click baiting and false information that I don't want to see again.

Program is awesome. I can barely browse Youtube anymore without this extension. So many shitty Youtube channels, it's nice to block all that garbage. Please... I beg you.... update this for the new Youtube.

All you people giving it one star are total jackasses! It was working great, not his fault Youtube decided to overhaul their site.

I don´t know what people are smoking here, but this is working for me on FF 54.0.1 x64, even while using "Enhancer for Youtube" at the same time.

At first I did try copying the Youtube address and add it to the filter, but that doesn´t work, you have to use the name channel, or just use the right click menu and add it, which is the easiest way to do it.

Absolutely no issues after using it for a month.

Just a heads up that the new YT interface pretty much breaks the add-on. All the stuff you had blocked is now back visible. Giving it a 5* just because it worked for me personally before this. Just hope it can be fixed.

i was relly need it

I tried this add-on version 5.2.5 and it works great! Not flawlessly strangely enough because doing it manually just doesn't work great. But for instance you look for the name of a channel you don't like, you right-click on the channel's name and select "Block videos from this channel" and then you refresh the page, they won't be showing up on the list anymore. It's just perfect. There's some YouTubers I can't stand so I think this add-on works great for that!

Very helpful little extension, wich would help you not to stumble across obnoxious youtubers, clickbait news outlets, minecraft videos and the rest of youtube garbage.
