    The app is great, but looking more carefully at the permissions, I'm only using it very selectively, ie, only activating it when needed. The kind of access signed away lets it vacuum up far too much data. It's free, and this defrays the cost, but the type of data is so totally unrelated to it's task.

    Hi! Thank you for your review. Which permissions are unnecessary?

    Unfortunately, in order for Rikaichamp to be able to present pop-ups on the page it requires access to that page's contents. Web extensions do not provide any more fine-grained permissions that that. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to create a pop-up dictionary with fewer permissions.

    The source code is available for audit and/or forking if you are concerned about misuse of those permissions.

    Rikaichamp is everything I want in a pop-up dictionary, and I've been using it for over a year. I just downloaded Firefox Nightly, so I can use Rikaichamp on my Android phone once again! Thanks for making my life easier. ありがとうございました！

    Thanks for that great app, it's best of best. I didn't even expect pitch hints. Mindblowing!
    But is it possible to install dictionary for different language, russian, for example?

    Thank you so much for your very kind words! There's no possibility to install other dictionaries at the moment but I hope to release a version that includes Russian definitions for a lot of the words in the next month or two.

    This is a great add-on for reading Japanese texts, and it so helpfully provides the pronunciations of/notes on person/place names. Can not wait for something like it on Android! Thank you so much for creating this!

    Thank you for this outstanding pop-up dictionary, it is a useful tool for Japanese learning like me. Recently I also installed Yomichan (similar like yours). In Yomichan I can copy the dictionary's explanation. I wish Ricachamp can do the same job too.

    Hi! Thank you very much! You can copy dictionary explanations by pressing the "c" key when the popup is showing. Then you can press "c" again to choose which entry to copy followed by "e", "t" or "w" depending on which format you'd like to copy in.

    Thank you for your feedback! (For a very quick fix for the font size, you can use Ctrl and + to increase the font size of the entire page which will also increase the size of the popup.)     MANY THANKS for this outstanding and life-saving tool. How can i have the knowledge Rikaichamp provides on my mobile devices? I know we cannot hover, but is there any way at all to consult dictionary in this effective concise way on my phones somehow?

    Thank you so much! I hope to make Rikaichamp work with Firefox for Android in the future once Mozilla allows arbitrary extensions to run on Firefox for Android.

    a great app.
    but recently the Japanese letters (hiragana ) isn't in it's properly order.
    ex: いみ　> みい
    please solve this bug

    It has helped me so much. Readings, translation and even indication on grammatical phenomena. And now it got accent indicators. It is beyond helpful.
