This tool is designed to block intrusive advertising. And it does what it says. But when you build a better mouse trap, they will build a better mouse. I learned early that when you thought you had solved the problem, a new problem comes along and replaces the old one. Ad Block plus does a good job at a very special problem. And it's never really let me down.

Fine till sites stopped working. But even removing the program will not stop sites like CBS, NBC, ABC and HULU from not working. You get a message only.

The developer is still transitioning Adblock Plus to Firefox 57, so much of the functionality has been temporarily compromised. In the meantime, I recommend not upgrading to Firefox 57 or reverting to Firefox 56 and using Adblock Plus version 2.7.1 to restore full workability. Addon rollback works for other addons annihilated by WebExtensions as well. Just make sure to disable Firefox automatic updates and set any Firefox-57-incompatible addons to update manually. Disabling addon compatibility checking and/or addon signature checking through about:config may be required, but I don't believe so.

it has been one of my favorite add-ons for Firefox, sites load faster without having to download all those ads, and the interface looks cleaner.
one thing that the previous version had that was better than the new version, is that you could whitelist a specific part of the site while allowing what you wanted to go through. now I have the problem in some sites that Adblock mistakenly blocks some essential parts of the site, and the only way to see that essential, is by letting all the ads go through.
its all or nothing, either you get infested by ads all around, or see a broken website lacking essentials.

Used to be a 5 star but now, if I want to watch some clips on youtube (specially Jimmy K), the video will come up, but only the voice, no image and I've reported this but 3 months later, still no fix.

So I decided to try AdBlock (the one with the "hand" logo) and it's been fantastic, better than ABP. And ultimately, they're the same but AdBlock is better now because of that .

Version 3.0.1 didn't block custom objects.

Firefox 57.0

This is not Ad-Block's fault but it's yet another thing that Firefox Quantum has screwed up. Quantum nearly bricked my laptop when using ABP. Leaving me pretty screwed now.

Used to be fairly happy with it,
apart from things like having to set my filters again and again after closing and re-starting Firefox,
but with the FF 57 update it stopped working completely.

Now using the other well known one (I'm sure you'll find it when searching ;)

Nowadays it allows opening of new tabs of ads without blocking them.

Add on cant be downloaded due to connection failure

Great but has a huge impact on CPU and memory usage. You are bleeding your userbase to uBlock Origin primarily for that reason.
