At Englify, your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Englify you agree to the practices described here.

1. Data We Collect
   Account information — name and email address when you register.
   Usage data — number of rewrites, words processed, and timestamps, used to power your dashboard analytics.
   Text you submit — text sent for rewriting is transmitted to our AI provider to generate the result. We do NOT store the content of your rewrites.
   Billing information — payment is handled securely by Stripe. We never store your card details on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
   We use your data to:

Provide and improve the Englify service.
Manage your account and subscription.
Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset, receipts).
Display usage analytics in your dashboard.
We do not sell your data to third parties.

1. Data Sharing
   We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate Englify (e.g. our AI provider, Stripe for payments, our email delivery service). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. We will disclose data when required by law.
2. Your Rights
   You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Delete your account at any time from Account Settings.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use two categories of cookies:

Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
Analytics cookies — we use privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website (e.g. page views, referral sources, feature usage). This data is aggregated and never used to identify individual users. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking for marketing purposes. You may disable analytics cookies through your browser settings; essential cookies are required for the service to function.

   If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local law. Our legal basis for processing your personal data is:

Performance of a contract — processing your account data and rewrite requests to deliver the service you signed up for.
Legitimate interests — improving the service, preventing fraud and abuse, and sending transactional communications.
Consent — where you have explicitly opted in (e.g. analytics cookies).

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

   If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you additional rights regarding your personal information.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. You therefore do not need to opt out of a sale.

Know — request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, purposes, and third parties with whom we share it.
Delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA rights.
