App for Hangouts™ (formerly named Panel for Google™ Hangouts) addon is an easy way to check your Hangouts messages in your browser.

Note 1: App for Hangouts™ is an independent project aimed to provide a better way to access Google Hangouts. This addon is NOT related to Google at all; It is just a fan project which is developed and maintained independently by its author.

The official Google Hangouts is a communication platform developed by Google which includes instant messaging, video chat, SMS and VOIP features. This service can be accessed online through the Gmail or Google+ websites, or through mobile apps available for Android and iOS. With App for Hangouts™ addon, you also have access to this service by clicking on a toolbar button.

Note 2: (v0.1.8) has badge notification by showing the number of unread messages. In version 0.1.9 badge notification is removed due to the new addon design. Version 0.1.9 is re-written based on WebExtensions API, which is more stable and faster than the old addon-sdk API.

Some key features:
a. Access Google Hangouts in a separate popup window with just one click!
b. Popup UI width and height are resizable.
c. (v0.1.9) Lite addon as when the popup is closed, there won’t be any background activities.
d. Clicking on the toolbar icon will open the new popup which renders Hangouts page.
