Privacy Policy - Marko Browser Extension

Data we collect
The Marko browser extension transmits the following data to our backend (Firebase):
- Authentication information: email and password (encrypted) for login
- Bookmark data: titles, URLs, descriptions, tags, and folder organization
of bookmarks you manually add or import - Browsing activity (limited): only URLs and titles of pages you actively
choose to bookmark via the extension. We do NOT track your browsing in the
background.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to:
- Authenticate you in the Marko service
- Sync your bookmarks across your devices
- Provide the bookmark management features you requested
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Track your browsing activity outside of bookmarks you manually save
Data storage
- All data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Cloud Firestore)
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication
Your rights (GDPR)
You can:
- Access your data at any time via the Marko web app
- Export your bookmarks
- Delete your account, which permanently removes all your data
Third-party services
Marko uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and hosting
- Stripe for premium subscription payments
- SendGrid for transactional emails
